Who doesn’t like free cash? Everyone loves Monopoly’s GO square.

The GO square (yes, the “O” is capitalized) is a crucial engine for the game of Monopoly. GO enables players to build houses and hotels.

Each player starts with $1,500 cash. That’s enough to buy a few properties. But without GO income, players would lack funds to do much else.

Landing on GO

Players who pass or land on GO collect $200 cash.

As a kid, we had house rules about GO. A player who landed directly on GO earned $300. We figured, nothing else happens on that square, so why not offer an additional perk?

That perk was unnecessary. When you land on a square where nothing happens (like Free Parking or Just Visiting) remember you’re still advancing.

Advancing is the heart of the GO-Economy.

Look at a Monopoly game board. Each side has 10 squares. There are 10 squares from one corner to the next.

Here, I’ll make it easy.
