How to gain early control and a lasting edge in Monopoly (part 2)

This is my number one strategy to winning Monopoly against my iPhone.

While it’s easy to understand, it can be difficult to execute. Keep reading, and I’ll show you trading tricks that make this possible.

Before we go there, let’s talk about the iPhone interface.

Computer opponents

Hasbro engineers did an excellent job of programming Monopoly. I’ve owned the Sega Genesis version of Monopoly, a PC version, and more recently a version for the iPhone.

The interface is slick. Game-play is fast. And the computer removes the tedium of counting squares and money.

It’s also portable. You can play at your convenience. And if you get frustrated, you can always reset.

Trading interface

Trades occur on a two-sided field. In this example, Pink (the cat) offers $30 cash to Blue (the race car) for a Get Out of Jail Free card.

This trading interface is simple. Click the green checkbox to accept the trade. Or click the red circle to reject or modify the trade.
